Same here- same age, same skin color. But I do recognize what the stats say. I am sad that there are a lot of women who won't even vote for a woman. My sister reminded me that Jill Stein and RFK Jr. were in there as spoilers, so we wondered without the 2 of them how those other votes would have gone. I've waited my whole time for a woman president, and I thought Kamala would be the one. Sadly, without that many years left, I wonder if I will ever see one.
I've been feeling for awhile that we just keep moving towards the boiling point. Today, we're watching a dictator continue to welcome dictators into the WH- has that happened in the past, this often, this openly? They're being called, "Good presidents!" What??? I LIVED down in Central America and South America. I HEARD people's stories about human right violations. This is whom we welcome?? I am watching der fuhrer parade these "leaders" around, and make them say what he wants them to say. Our guy acts like nothing is under his control, and we have to ask this one or that one, but not him; he doesn't know. Next steps really need to be hashed out, so that everyone is on the same page, and the movement is big and coordinated. Today, the guy from Maryland is "irretrievable" from El Salvador; tomorrow it's a citizen, one of US! We move one step, one step more, and one step more towards an imploding democracy with guardrails removed or bent back. There is no cavalry coming. We are the cavalry! I keep hoping that SOMEONE in Congress or the Senate, SOMEONE will step up, but there is NO ONE.
For those of you hiding in the other 2 branches of government, our Senators and Representatives who afraid of being primaried, look around and realize that our decaying and failing human condition in the U.S. today is more worthy of being feared. You feel fine and safe today, but once the little rock here and there that's rolling becomes an unstoppable avalanche, what do you do? Run for cover? You have a bigger voices than we do- you represent us, ALL of us, no matter our party affiliations. Please, as I have written in my relentless weekly emails: Stand up and speak out, or please, sit down and get out. We are taxed (and tariffed) and tired, and we feel like we have no representation. Where are YOU? We can support you, but PLEASE, DO YOUR JOB AND MORE IMPORTANTLY, DO YOUR SWORN DUTY TO THE CONSTITUTION AND THE PEOPLE WHICH IT PROTECTS!

I'm a 68 year old white woman and I voted for Kamala.
